Vatavaran aty Samaj Bachaao Morcha Punjab
State Coordination Meeting , 14th December , Amritsar

The first meeting of Vatavaran ate Samaj Bachao Morcha, Punjab was held on 14th December at the office of Ram Tirath Mission under the leadership of Giani Kewal Singh (Former-Jathedar Sri  Takhat Damdma Sahib)  The meeting was attended by more than two dozen organizations working on different causes including social, cultural, missionary and environmental concerns.
After a  serious discussion about the present state of affairs of Punjab and difficulties faced by people due to environmental, health and social problems it was felt that toxins in the environment and pollution are pushing Punjab towards death and destruction and that to save Punjab and punjabis it is necessary to build a strong wave of public pressure which can force political parties to respond to this crisis.

There was a consensus among members present that all political parties should present a time bound plan to improve the state of polluted environment, water, deteriorating health and about farming which is increasingly becoming poisonous and loss making by the day. Our democratic and electoral system needs to be protected from abuse of money power, muscle power and intoxicants being supplied to woo voters.

So to protect health, environment, farming and society from deterioration and to bring these issues on the forefront as most important electoral issues is the immediate goal of the morcha. The morcha will reach out to all political formations and ask them to make these issues into their manifestoes and governance agenda on highest priority.
