Parliament adjourned on demands of sacking HM

Image
Parliament adjourned  again  The demands for sacking Home Minister P Chidambaram for reportedly helping a hotelier and dismissal of Karnataka government for alleged atrocities on Marathi-speaking people today disrupted Parliament, forcing its adjournment virtually without conducting any business.  The only business transacted was the passage of the Supplementary Demands for Grants for Railways for 2011-12 in the Lok Sabha by a voice vote amid vociferous slogan-shouting by Opposition members. Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi could not reply to the debate, which took place yesterday, and just laid the speech on the table of the House. Trouble started as soon as the House met for the day with AIADMK and Left members trooping into the Well demandin

Govt confident of tabling Lokpal Bill in Winter Session: Bansal

Acknowledging that consensus eluded the all-party meeting on Lokpal issue, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal has said govt was confident that it would be able to table the proposed bill in the Winter Session itself. "I believe that it would be possible. Yesterday, there was an all-party meeting where 35 different parties participated. All had different views on the issue. To say there was broad consensus on the issue would be wrong. This has increased the work load of the government," Bansal said on Thursday. "How to compile these 35 different views and then also bringing in government views and to make amendments in the proposed bill," Bansal said, referring to the task at government's hand. However, "We are working hard on it and I am confident we will be present it in this s

Why India to come under emission curbs ?

Why India to come under emission curbs ? Following headline is nonsense – only India shall come under ‘Emission Curbs’ for not – 1. Developing Hydro Power potential over 200,000MW – sabotaged by HALF PANTS led River Linking under Suresh Prabhu. 2. Developing Innovative Energy Saving Products – HALF PANTS didn’t want to protect IPR of Inventors and didn’t provide any support – tax foregone was over $150b and crippled Patent Office. 3. Develop Thermal Power Projects & Offshore Oil & Gas – Amabanis in 10 years since taking over BSES has installed just 600MW of 35,000 MW (45,000MW including 10,000MW Dadri Projects). 4.
