Demand Compensation and Rehabilitaton for villagers who have lost their homes Button: Sign My Petition Sign My Petition Naresh - 51 villagers have been standing neck deep in water for 15 days to protest the illegal raising of the Omkareshwar dam that has flooded their homes. They need your support. Illegal Actions of MP Govt. The water level in Omkareshwar and Indira Sagar dams in the Narmada Valley has been illegally raised, in violation of the Supreme court orders.  As a result, large areas of land has submerged. However, the people living in those areas haven’t been compensated or rehabilitated.  I have started a petition asking the CM to intervene to address the grievances of people. Supreme Court Orders Not Followed Although the Supreme Court has clearly ordered that these oustees have to be rehabilitated 6 months before submergence, thousands of families who are yet to be rehabilitated are now being submerged in complete violation of the courts orders.

Sharath Gayakwad ends London 2012 on a high note

Sets personal best timings in all four events at the 2012 Paralympic Games 5th September 2012, London: India's only swimmer at the Paralympic Games, Sharath Gayakwad, ended his campaign with yet another personal best. Participating in the qualifying event for the 200m Individual Medley, his fourth and final race of London 2012, Sharath completed the distance in a time of 2:38.17, 2 seconds better than his previous best and Olympic Qualification timing of 2:40.47, finishing 14th overall. The Paralympic Games has proven to be an excellent platform for Sharath, where he set new personal best records in all four events he competed in, having finished the 100m butterfly event in 1:07.12, 5 seconds quicker than his previous best, finishing his 100m breaststroke in 1:18.20, 2 seconds faster than his qualification time and finishing the 50m freestyle event in 28.98s, half a second faster than his previous best. Happy with his performance, this young 21-year-old believes the best is yet

US Democratic Party to hold national convention The Democratic Party of the United States launches its national convention on Tuesday to officially nominate President Barack Obama as its candidate in the November 6th presidential election. Three day convention is being held in Charlotte, North Carolina.Ahead of the opening, concerts and a parade were staged inside the city to welcome delegates and visitors.A huge screen was set up at an arena that will serve as the venue for the first 2 days of the convention. Democrats will adopt the party platform on the first day on Tuesday. A speech by first lady Michelle Obama is also scheduled. President Obama will give his acceptance speech on the last day of the convention on Thursday.
