Syrian Prez warns US and West against supporting Al Queda

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has warned that western nations will suffer the consequences for what he said their support to Al Qaeda militants in his country.

In an interview to Syrian television channel he said that the West has paid heavily for funding Al Qaeda in its early stages in Afghanistan.
The Syrian President said that the western nations today are supporting it in Syria, Libya and other places, and will pay a heavy price later in the heart of Europe and the United States.
He said that the Syria is mainly facing the extremist forces.
His remarks come close on the heels of the Islamist Al Nusrah front, one of the most powerful rebel forces in Syria pledging its allegiance to Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri.
Another Al Qaeda affiliate, Islamic state of Iraq announced that Al Nusrah has merged with it.
The move has raised concerns since the two have been named as terror outfits.
