Hong Kong International Film Festival 2013 Awards to Bloom, The Patience Stone capture   Georgia’s In Bloom and Afghan drama The Patience Stone inset emerged as the winners last night at the closing of the 2013 Hong Kong International Film Festival 17 Mar – 2 Apr. In Bloom , co-directed by Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross, claimed the Firebird Award in the Young Cinema competition as well as the FIPRESCI Prize given by film critics.Asian film, The Patience Stone , the Afghanistan’s foreign-language Oscar contender, earned the SIGNIS prize for its humanitarian values. The festival selected 20 titles to play in its short film competition and selected Night Shift as the winner of the Firebird Award. The short film jury commended the Zia Mandviwalla-directed film for “a sharp look for social differences… and for psychological details”, and said that it “describes in a cool and very precise way the everyday life of a cleaning woman in a big airport

Gujarat cities again create benchmark in urban planning, transparency and resources Surat gets best city award, Ahmedabad runners up  New Delhi:   Gujarat has been adjudged with four prestigious awards by the Annual Survey of India’s City-Systems (ASICS) in different categories at a function held here. Out of total six awards, four awards were received by Gujarat for Overall Quality of Life in all parameters and Quality of City and Governance. Surat bagged  best city award  for Quality of Life and Governance while Ahmedabad city ranked third. All the four awards were received by Shri I.P.Gautam Principal Secretary (Urban Development) of Gujarat Government and Shri Manoj Das, Commissioner Surat from Shri N.R. Karnataka MLAs compare with those from other Southern States. Highlights: Analysis of Karnataka's Cabinet Ministers National Election Watch (NEW) h­­­­as analyzed the affidavits of 24 out of 27 cabinet ministers including the Chief Minister, submitted to the Election Commission of India from the state of Karnataka. Among the 24 analysed, V.SOMANNA of BJP is an MLC from 2010, rest all are MLAs. 42% ministers i.e. (10 out of 24 analyzed) have self declared criminal cases as per their affidavits filed during the last held Assembly Elections in 2008. 2 ministers out of these 24 analyzed have declared serious IPC charges like murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, theft etc. against them. BJP WILL OPPOSE FTA AGREEMENT WITH EUROPEON UNION-RAJNATH SINGH BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh today said that likely concluding Free Trade Agreement between India and Europeon Union will be stoutly opposed by BJP since it such a one sided agreement  will hold credible question mark on the economic sovereignty of the Country. He demanded that the Government should release negotiating text and impact assesment studies of FTAs particulalrly with EU. He also demanded a comprehensive debate in the Parliament on all FTAs including FTA with Europeon Union.
